About

Biography
I have loved photography for as long as I can remember. I still vividly remember how excited I was getting my first camera when I was nine, and later my first SLR in high school. I have been off and “shooting” ever since.
I live near Toledo, Ohio with my husband and children.
I enjoy traveling and plan multiple excursions every year to wondrous places throughout the United States. When travel is not possible, I travel around the Toledo area, finding beauty everywhere around me, in the city and state parks, zoos, botanical gardens, and all of the many interesting landmarks in the area.
When it comes to equipment, I am an avid “Canon” fan and will continue to for the rest of my days! I shoot with several full-frame Canon digital cameras, also including my new Canon R Mirrorless!
When I am not behind the camera or with my family, I also enjoy spending time cooking and baking, working out, and gardening.
ARTIST STATEMENT
In my life, I have had many ups and downs and have come to realize how very little control I have over things that are truly important. As this realization dawns on me, I look to renew my spirit and keep hope in my life. Photography has always answered that need for me. Every moment I am behind my camera I feel so much joy and peace with life. My love of photography has made me a better person and my world a better place.
I have always been drawn to nature. With my photographs I try to capture the sense of awe I find in each trail of spring flowers, the colors of leaves in fall, or the crashing of water over a waterfall. The perfect light at the perfect moment is breathtaking, that moment is what I strive to capture. I hope the viewer of my photographs is able to feel what I feel as I shoot these scenes.
What I feel is powerful, standing watching the fog lift from a mountain stream, or the sun descending behind the mountains, a feeling of being part of nature. These feelings express themselves among a wide range of powerful emotions – joy, beauty, awe, wonder, calmness, and serenity. My hope is that when you look at my photography you may feel similarly inspired.
